Applicants must be Indian nationals and should possess a first-class B.E./B.Tech degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, or a relevant IT specialisation from a recognised university, institute, or international university. The notification also requires 12 years of executive-cadre experience after obtaining the essential qualification. Experience in programming, electronic data processing, network systems, system design and analysis, or related IT functions will be considered relevant as per the advertisement.

The upper age limit is 55 years as on 2026-10-01. A postgraduate degree in Computer Science & Engineering or Information Technology is desirable, and experience in the port or shipping sector is also preferred. Candidates working in government, semi-government, PSU, or autonomous bodies must attach a No Objection Certificate with the application.
