SSB Odisha Laboratory Assistant-cum-Storekeeper Recruitment 2026

The State Selection Board (SSB), Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, has released Advertisement No. 04/2026 for the recruitment of Laboratory Assistant-cum-Storekeeper posts. This is a major higher education recruitment drive in Odisha with a total of 435 vacancies across Government Degree Colleges and Non-Government Aided Colleges. The selection process will be based on a written test only, and there will be no interview stage.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in the practical subject relevant to the vacancy. The advertisement specifies that candidates should apply only against the subject of their Honours degree. For Government Degree Colleges, the subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Anthropology, Education and Geology. They must be able to read, write and speak Odia, with Odia as a language subject in HSC or an equivalent examination, or must have passed an Odia test equivalent to Middle School standard. The notice also mentions that candidates from outside Odisha must produce equivalence proof from a recognised Odisha body, along with proof of affiliation of the institution.

The age limit is 21 to 42 years as on 2026-01-01. The notification also states that temporary disability does not qualify for age relaxation under the PwD category, and candidates must satisfy the medical and other conditions mentioned in the advertisement.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates must submit the application form online only through the official SSB Odisha website. The application window opens on 12 October 2026 at 2:30 PM and closes on 16 November 2026 at 11:45 PM. No offline mode is accepted. Candidates should carefully fill in all details before final submission because the form cannot be edited after submission.

Applicants must upload a recent photograph taken within 15 days before submission, along with a clear signature and left-hand thumb impression. The application fee must be paid online and should be credited against the correct application ID. If the fee is not properly linked, the application will be rejected. SC, ST and PwD candidates must pay ₹200, while all other candidates must pay ₹500. The fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable.

Government servants may apply if they meet the eligibility conditions, but they must inform their office head and produce a No Objection Certificate during document verification. Candidates should also keep all educational and category documents ready for verification.
