As per the notification, candidates must have passed High School (Class 10th) or an equivalent qualification on or before the last date of application submission. The age limit mentioned for the PET is minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years as on 01 July 2026, with relaxation applicable as per government rules for reserved and special categories. How to Apply for UPSSSC PET 2026

Applicants must first complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the official UPSSSC portal before starting the application. After that, they should visit the Live Advertisements section, log in using the OTR number or registered mobile number, and verify the login through OTP and captcha. The application form will auto-fill details from OTR, after which candidates must enter the remaining required information, accept the declaration, and submit the form. Once the registration slip is generated, the 11-digit registration number should be noted carefully. Candidates must then proceed to payment and complete the fee transaction through the available online modes. After successful payment, the application form should be downloaded and printed for future reference.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The selection process for UPSSSC PET 2026 follows a two-tier system. Tier 1 is the Preliminary Eligibility Test, which consists of 100 objective-type questions for 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours. There is negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer. Candidates who qualify the PET and hold a valid score card will become eligible to apply for future Main Examinations advertised by UPSSSC for various Group C posts. The PET score remains valid for 3 years from the date of result upload on the UPSSSC website.
