Applicants must meet the prescribed nationality, age, and educational qualification criteria as on the cut-off date mentioned in the notification. For most posts, candidates should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or university. For DEO and DEO Grade A posts in specific ministries and departments, a 12th pass in the Science stream with Mathematics is required. Candidates who have appeared in the Class 12 examination may apply only if the result is declared on or before the last date.

The age limit is 18 to 27 years as on 2026-08-01, with relaxation applicable as per government rules for reserved categories and eligible candidates. Only male candidates are eligible for vacancies in the Border Roads Organization (BRO), as stated in the notification.
